Hello!

I’m Liam Kirkpatrick, a climate and glaciology PhD student currently studying in the Department of Earth and Space Sciences at the University of Washington. My interests lie at the intersection of climate science and glaciology. I’m fascinated by what ice cores can tell us about climate before we could systematically observe the weather, and how these lessons can be applied to better understand the future of our climate system.

I’ve made this site to share a bit about myself and my research. My goal is to write about my fieldwork and research projects in an accessible and fun way, while also sharing images of the incredible places my research takes me. I’m excited to answer questions or engage in discussion with anyone interested in any aspect of this work!
